Playback
Theater
The Playback Theater method is an improvisational form in which audience members provide stories, often relating to a given theme. Then, using music, movement, dialogue and soliloquy, Ensemble actors bring each story to life, illuminating its essential meaning. In a purely theatrical setting, the experience is one of collaborative, dramatic and entertaining storytelling. In an organizational setting, Playback Theater can provide the audience with opportunities for validation, connection and understanding through dramatic enactment. Playback Theater was founded by Jonathan Fox in 1975. Threshold Ensemble is a member of the International Playback Theater Network.
